Artisan & Trade Courses.
// ALL COURSES
South Africa faces a critical shortage of qualified artisans. The Department of Labour and MERSETA estimate that the country needs hundreds of thousands more certified tradespeople across welding, electrical, mechanical and plumbing disciplines.
At United Training Centre we offer hands-on artisan and trade courses that go beyond classroom theory. You train on real equipment, in real workshop conditions — the same environment you will face on the job and in your Trade Test.
All our artisan courses are accredited by MERSETA, QCTO and SAQA — certificates recognised by employers in mining, construction, manufacturing and engineering across South Africa.

A Trade Test is the official South African assessment that certifies you as a qualified artisan. Passing earns you a Red Seal certificate — recognised nationally and by international employers. Our Trade Test Preparation course gets you ready to pass.
No prior experience is required for most courses. We take students from beginner level through to trade-test ready competency.
Double Coded Welding is a higher level welding qualification for pressure vessel and pipeline work. It is required for welding jobs in oil and gas, petrochemical and high-pressure industrial environments. It is aimed at experienced welders upgrading their skills.
Artisan courses focus on practical trade skills — welding, boilermaking, plumbing. Engineering courses cover more technical disciplines — electrical theory, diesel mechanics, millwright. Some courses appear in both categories as they develop both practical and technical competencies.
